Paxil came along — at least in terms of popularity and how frequently it was prescribed — quite a while after Zoloft emerged as the top choice for antidepressants.  Speaking from experience, it is an altogether milder alternative.  One does not experience the shaky, edgy feelings of extra anxiety on this particular antidepressant — at least, that seems to be the case with the majority of people who try it.

That being said, you must also understand that it will affect different people in different ways.  That is true of all drugs, no matter what they are for or what they are supposed to improve or cure.  However, a quick study of user reviews does show that quite a few people prefer Paxil to Zoloft.  The side effects are generally less severe and people experience way less unpleasant symptoms as the medicine begins being absorbed into their symptoms.

This is likely why, despite the continued advances in the world of antidepressents, Paxil is a frequent choice for people experiencing mild to moderate depression, and especially for those suffering from anxiety disorders.
