08.03Truth about Online Meds: Choosing an Online Pharmacy — part 4.
In this last installment for this series, we need to discuss the issue of your personal safety – and the safety of others. When looking into an online pharmaceutical company, make sure that the pharmacy has a licensed pharmacist on hand, so that you can direct any questions or concerns to a knowledgeable professional. This goes in line with never trying to get a prescription medication from an online site if you do not have a prescription from a proper, authorized health care professional. You also need to be extremely sure that all of your personal and financial information is closely protected. To that end, make sure you extensively read a potential pharmacy’s privacy policies. Don’t give out information like your social security number, medical history, or financial information until you are confident in their security policies. You also need to be certain that the pharmacy will not sell your information to any other site or company unless they have your express permission.
If you run across any pharmaceutical sites which violate or do not conform to these guidelines or any of the others mentioned in this series, make sure that you report it. You are not “snitching,” you are not “tattling,” you are not doing anything except keeping other people – and yourself – safe from fraudulent and potentially dangerous practices.
